What is needed to get started?

To get started, I need dimensioned floor plans of your space! Professionally hand drawn sketches are fine, as long as they can be scanned into a PDF format. If you don’t have architectural plans, we can utilize one of many free apps that scan your space and auto generate dimensions for us to get started.

Do you only do kitchens?

I specialize in kitchens but can do any space you need! I love bathrooms, pantry’s, mudrooms, laundry etc. My services is most useful for rooms needing “hard finishes” or “hard materials” like tile, flooring, countertops, lighting and hardware.

How do we communicate during the process?

Once you’ve booked your service with me, I will provide a portal that we can communicate in, upload documents and share images and files. This is the best way to keep our communication all in one place and ensure I can organize all of your wants and needs for your projects. I try to avoid email when the design process has started.

Do you provide technical drawings for my builder and cabinet maker?

Yes! The service I provide includes fully dimensioned cabinetry plans and wall elevations. These drawings are for planning purposes only and are not to be used for final sizing, construction, purchasing or fabrication. You will need to work with your cabinet maker or builder to finalize exact measurements and dimensions.

Can you help me decor and furnishings?

I love all elements of design but with the service I provide, I focus on what are called “hard finishes”. This includes, layout, cabinetry styles, materials such as countertops, tiles and lighting. I’m also happy to make suggestions on paint colors and stains.

What does one round of revisions include?

After the initial 3d design of your space is provided, I will provide meeting times to discuss your revisions. Revisions include things like layout changes, material updates and design details. These meetings are typically 45 minutes to 1 hour. If we need additional time I’ll provide options and pricing considering the amount of changes requested.

Can you match colors & finishes?

Yes! Paint colors are best chosen while in the space as lighting and sun orientation are a large consideration when making paint choices. I can make suggestions and can always match the exact color you have chosen from the paint manufacturer. Materials, lighting, furniture, and appliances used in my renderings will be approximate and are not guaranteed to be exact matches to the items you have chosen or the inspiration photos you’ve provided. While I do my very best to make your space as real as possible, this service is meant to be used as approximation to initiate the final design of your space.
